Nygaard Nets 8th NOSA Sprints Win of 2018 at Devils Lake, Looks Ahead to River Cities and Cedar Lake!

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 5, 2018) – Wade Nygaard and the Auto Finance Super Center team claimed all the hardware Saturday night at Devils Lake Speedway Nygaard picked up both the feature win and track championship at the high-banked one-third mile clay oval.

The win for Nygaard was his second in a row at Devils Lake, eighth of the season overall, and 16th of his career at the speedway.

Wade started eighth on the grid and took the lead with 10 laps to go. A late-race restart bunched the field back up, but Nygaard powered away as the green flag flew.

“Back in traffic, I just had to find a lane to get by people. Once I got towards the front, I was able to get back to the lane that was working for me,” said Nygaard.

Of the eight NOSA races at Devils Lake this year, Nygaard recorded five runner-up finishes and two wins.

“It was fun to race so much so close to home. Nolan and his crew worked their butts off to give us a really good race track. It’s always been fun to race there, but it’s getting more fun as they continue to get the track a little better each week,” said Nygaard.

On Friday, the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA) return to River Cities Speedway for the $8,200-to-win Blazin’ Challenge. With his wins at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. and River Cities Speedway, Nygaard is the top point man in the Blazin’ Challenge mini-series. The top four in points are inverted for the dash, putting Nygaard outside of row two. Nygaard has to finish first or second in the dash to start in the back row of Friday’s main event for a chance at $8,200.

On Saturday, the Nygaard Motorsports crew will head to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. to run with both the Bumper to Bumper IRA Sprints and Upper Midwest Sprintcar Series (UMSS). Last year at Cedar Lake, Nygaard won a UMSS show in April and finished second with the IRA Sprints two weeks later in May.

Wade and the entire crew would like to thank their great sponsors for their continued support!
