Dobmeier to make rare ASCS 360 appearance aboard the Alex Pettas No. 2
QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. (November 23, 2018) – Mark Dobmeier will be making his ASCS Southwest Region debut this weekend at the third annual $5,000-to-win Copper Classic at Arizona Speedway. Dobmeier will be piloting Alex Pettas’ No. 2 Triple X tonight, November 23rd and Saturday, November 24th.
Petta, who currently sits fifth in the ASCS Southwest region points, has been sidelined after hurting a motor at Canyon Speedway Park.
With help of Todd and Susan LaHaise of Buffalo Wild Wings, Dobmeier and Pettas were able to work out a deal to put Dobmeier behind the wheel.
While it will be Dobmeier’s first time turning laps at Arizona Speedway, and in the state of Arizona for that matter, and first time strapped into a Triple X chassis, he will have the familiarity of his Don Ott 360 powerplant under the hood.
Dobmeier ran his 360 motor in two events throughout the course of the 2018 season, including the 360 Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville Raceway.
Entering the weekend, Dobmeier has 12 wins on the year, along with 15 top fives and 18 top tens in 33 starts. Dobmeier would love nothing more than to get that 13th win this weekend for Team 13 in his first year being the team owner.
Both nights of the Copper Classic at Arizona Speedway will be broadcast live on Speed Shift TV. The action begins both nights at 6:50pm CT. For more information, visit ascsracing.com or follow along online at @LucasOilASCS.
Mark and the entire Team 13 Racing crew would like to thank Alex Pettas for the opportunity to race this weekend and all of their sponsors for their continued support!
