PITTSBORO, Ind. (April 10, 2019) – Brian VanMeveren returned to action this past weekend aboard his VanMeveren Law / Wingo Brothers Racing No. 24 at the Kokomo Speedway doubleheader. The action kicked off Friday, April 5th, where VanMeveren started deep in the field in the main event, but had good speed when the race went green.

“We moved forward, passed a few cars,” said VanMeveren. “The car was handling pretty well so I feel like if we would have started a little further forward, we could have moved up a couple more positions. For the first night out at Kokomo, it wasn’t too bad.”

VanMeveren advanced five positions in the feature to come home 14th.

The following night, VanMeveren got off to a great start, timing in third in his qualifying group.

“The track was really dry slick, which usually isn’t to my liking, but we finished fourth in the heat race,” he explained. “We were running 13th in the feature until one of the nuts came loose on the right rear shock which ended things for us.”

Obviously, the DNF was a disappointing end to a promising evening, but VanMeveren is still pleased with the team’s effort.

“Other than the DNF, the car is going in the right direction and we’re learning things. I’m getting more comfortable in the car all the time,” he said.

This coming weekend, VanMeveren is gearing up for the USAC AMSOIL National doubleheader starting at Bloomington Speedway in Bloomington, Ind. on Friday, April 12th, followed by a visit to Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. on Saturday, April 13th.

“Bloomington will be a new track for me so I’m looking forward to that,” said VanMeveren. “I’m really looking forward to Haubstadt too. I’ve got a few laps around there, really like that track because it offers a little bit more room for passing. I think it’ll be a fun weekend.”

VanMeveren would like to thank all of his sponsors for their continued support!
