Lee Grosz looks ahead to Jackson Motorplex & Knoxville Raceway this weekend

HARWOOD, N.D. (May 29, 2019) – After a string of rainouts in the upper Midwest throughout most of May, Lee Grosz looks forward to a big weekend of racing. The Jimco Enterprises No. 4J team will start things off at Jackson Motorplex in Jackson, Minn. on Friday night before heading to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa on Saturday.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Jackson. The surface is always pretty racy,” said Grosz. “At the end of last year, we showed some pretty good speed there and I feel like we have a good set up and a good notebook going into this weekend.

“I’m excited to get back to Knoxville too,” continued Grosz. “We are running better there now than we have in a long, long time. I feel like we’ve got a good shot at a couple of wins here this weekend and hopefully we can get at least one of them.”

In nine starts at Jackson in 2018, Grosz raced to six podium finishes, seven top fives and never finished outside of the top 10.

Grosz has two starts at Knoxville Raceway so far this season, recording a third place finish in both appearances.

Grosz was able to get one race in last weekend. The 4J crew traveled south to Park Jefferson Speedway in North Sioux City, S.D. to compete with the MSTS and Nebraska 360s. Grosz gained three spots in his heat to finish third and wound up second in passing points.

An unfavorable draw put Grosz in the seventh starting position in the feature, but he quickly started passing cars once the green flag flew.

“I was racing for the fifth spot and made contact with another car and knocked the front axle out. That ended our night early, but I felt like we had decent speed. I was gaining on the guys in front of me and getting better as the race went on. It was just a racing deal. It could have been a lot worse than what it was,” he said.

Lee and the entire team would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continued support!
