Dobmeier Looks Ahead to Big Four-Race Weekend with the NOSA Sprints

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 19, 2019) – The Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints’ busiest weekend of the season is here. Four races are slated in four night in three states. This is the second season they are making their Minn-Dak Summer Swing. It all begins Thursday night at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., followed by a visit to River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks on Friday.

The series will head to South Dakota for the rest of the weekend with Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen scheduled for Saturday and Casino Speedway in Watertown on Sunday.

“This is the biggest weekend of the year for NOSA and I’m really looking forward to it,” said Dobmeier. “It’s great to have four really good races close to home. It’s nice to not have to travel so much.”

Last year, Dobmeier won the final two events of the Minn-Dak Summer Swing in South Dakota. The wins were the first of his career at Brown County and Casino Speedway. The driver of the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13 nearly won all four events, however. Dobmeier was two laps away from the win at Norman County when an axle broke while leading. The following night at River Cities, Dobmeier was spun by a lapped car while leading. He tagged the tail of the field and took the lead again until the razor-thin cushion bit him and forced him off the track.

Dobmeier comes into the weekend leading the series in wins with two, both coming at River Cities Speedway in May.

Dobmeier has two career wins at Norman County Raceway, but hasn’t won at the high-banked three-eighths mile oval since 2004. Dobmeier has been in contention in each of his last handful of visits, but it seems as though bad luck always strikes the No. 13 machine.

“We’ve been fast at Ada in the past but it always seems like something weird happens,” said Dobmeier. “A couple years ago I was leading until somebody’s muffler came off and cut down a tire. We almost came back and won that one. Last year, we had the axle snap after leading the whole race. It’s a fun track with long straightaways and tight corners. We’re going to turn our luck around on Thursday though.”
