Dobmeier Optimistic Following Disappointing Outlaw Weekend

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 11, 2019) – Last Friday night was one of the events Mark Dobmeier had circled on his calendar for the 2019 season. The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars made their first of two appearances of the season to River Cities Speedway on Friday. Coming into the event, Dobmeier was a perfect two-for-two in NOSA action at the Bullring.

“It was a struggle for us. It definitely wasn’t your typical River Cities track,” said Dobmeier. “With the heat and the wind, it was a very tricky track. We started 13th in the feature and was maintaining around 11th or 12th and pushed too hard and slipped off the track in turn two. We went to the back of the pack and ripped through the field again. The track took rubber at the end, but we were able to battle our way back to 10th.”

On Saturday, the Buffalo Wild Wings No. 13 team followed the World of Outlaws to Sauk Rapids, Minnesota’s Granite City Speedway.

“Granite City was awesome. It’s a great facility and great fans,” said Dobmeier of his first-ever visit to the speedway. “We are just a little behind the eight-ball. We’ve got some work to do in the shop to get where we need to be.”

Dobmeier was running the 12th position in the feature when he hooked the treacherous cushion in turn four and got upside down with 10 laps to go. Mark was okay, but done for the night.

The team will regroup this week and watch the weather to see where they will be able to race this weekend.
