Following A Pair of NOSA Runner-up Finishes, Dobmeier Sets Focus on Jackson Nationals

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 26, 2019) – Mark Dobmeier and the Buffalo Wild Wings No. 13 team were geared up for four big nights of racing with the NOSA Sprints, but Mother Nature washed out the final two nights of racing.

The action began on Thursday, June 20th at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn.

“We were lucky to even get the race in. The forecast was not favorable but the rain stayed away. I think the track was expecting some rain so they kept the surface dry and hard. In the feature, we knew the track was going to take rubber, it was just a matter of when. We started fourth and knew we had to make a pass for the lead in the first couple of laps because the rubber was coming. We raced the wheels off of it, fell back a couple of spots on the first laps, but made those positions up over the next couple of laps.

“I ran Wade (Nygaard) down and felt like I had enough to get by him, but just wasn’t able to make the pass before the rubber laid down. I like going to Ada, it’s a good track and really racy when the track is right. I wish we could have put on a better showing for the fans, but the track guys didn’t have much time to do the prep they wanted with the rain coming.”

Dobmeier went on to take the checkers in the second position.

On Friday, the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints returned to River Cities Speedway for the Greater Grand Forks Fair event that was broadcasted live on Midco Sports Network. Dobmeier started the night going second quick in time trials and followed that up by racing from eighth to the heat race win.

“We started eighth in the feature and probably had the best surface of the year so far at River Cities,” said Dobmeier. “We got up to second and started to slowly reel in Jade (Hastings). I would really gain on him on the longer runs, but it seemed like each time we got to lapped cars, the caution would come out. I got close to him at the end, but needed a few more laps to get by him. He was running a good pace and ran a very smart and hard race so my hat’s off to him.”

Next up for Team 13 Racing is the 41st annual Jackson Nationals at Jackson Motorplex June 27-29th.

“We only got there once last year and I’m really looking forward to getting back there,” continued the 2017 Jackson Motorplex track champion. “Jackson used to be a long paperclip, but now it’s kind of like a short Knoxville. Hopefully, we can have some good runs against the Outlaws.”

Mark and the entire Team 13 Racing crew would like to thank all their sponsors for their support!
