Nygaard collects 16th career Devils Lake Speedway win

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 6, 2019) – Ten-time and defending Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car champion, Wade Nygaard, picked up his series-leading 16th career win at Devils Lake Speedway last Saturday night.

Nygaard led all 25 trips around the high-banked quarter-mile en route to the win, however, he had Jade Hastings within striking distance all race long.

“The track took a little bit of rubber and I was hoping the rubber wouldn’t move down a groove. I kept looking over my shoulder to see if Jade was going to fly by me on the inside. When you’re leading, you’re in a tough spot because you don’t want to change your line if you don’t have to,” said Nygaard in victory lane.

“So far this year has gone pretty well for us. We still have a lot of work to do to get better, but that’s one of those on-going projects,” said Nygaard. “Big thanks to Todd Slocum for helping out since Brendan Mullen wasn’t racing. It was a fun night.”

Last Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, Nygaard raced to a heat race win before coming home fourth in the feature.

The Auto Finance Super Center team will return to River Cities this Friday to compete against the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series. On Saturday, Nygaard will travel to Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, N.D. with the NOSA Sprints. Nygaard is the defending race winner at the quarter-mile oval.

Wade and the entire crew would like to thank their great sponsors for their continued support!
