Nygaard dominates Devils Lake Speedway
CRARY, N.D. (June 6, 2019) – The Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints made their first and only appearance of the season to Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday night. A strong 15-car field was checked in and ready to battle on the high-banked quarter-mile oval.
Ten-time and defending Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car champion, Wade Nygaard, picked up his series-leading 16th career win at Devils Lake Speedway.
Nygaard led all 25 trips around the high-banked quarter-mile en route to the win, however, he had Jade Hastings within striking distance all race long.
“The track took a little bit of rubber and I was hoping the rubber wouldn’t move down a groove. I kept looking over my shoulder to see if Jade was going to fly by me on the inside. When you’re leading, you’re in a tough spot because you don’t want to change your line if you don’t have to,” said Nygaard in victory lane.
“So far this year has gone pretty well for us. We still have a lot of work to do to get better, but that’s one of those on-going projects,” said Nygaard. “Big thanks to Todd Slocum for helping out since Brendan Mullen wasn’t racing. It was a fun night.”
Hastings made a late race charge on Nygaard in the closing laps, but couldn’t get within two car lengths of the driver of the No. 9N.
The NOSA Sprints return to action on Saturday night at Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, N.D.
