GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 6, 2019) – The 2019 season may have gotten off to a rocky start for Austin Pierce, but he and his Opp Construction / Lithia Ford crew bounced back in a big way last Friday night at River Cities Speedway with the NOSA Sprints.
Pierce started 11th in the feature after a fifth-place finish in his heat.
“Starting that far back in the feature, I was the only car running the top at the beginning of the race,” said Pierce. “Once I got up to the top five, everybody was running the top. I started hitting the bottom in turns three and four and I was in third before I knew it. I thought I had a shot at the lead, or at least second, but I got held up in lapped traffic.”
Pierce went on to claim a solid third-place finish.
This Friday, the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series makes their first of two visits to River Cities Speedway. Despite completing just two events at the Grand Forks bullring thus far in 2019, Pierce said he and the team are ready to take on the Greatest Show on Dirt.
Pierce has one career top 10 finish with the World of Outlaws, which came at his home track, River Cities, in 2016.
If you can’t make it to the track this weekend, catch the action on DirtVision.com.
The entire APR crew would like to thank their sponsors for their continued support!
