RACEDAY PREVIEW: Joey Pederson looks to continue top five streak at River Cities
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (June 21, 2019) – Joey Pederson has been a model of consistency so far this year at his home track, River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Pederson has racked up four top-five finishes through the first four events at the high-banked three-tenths mile oval. That consistency has him sitting atop the River Cities Speedway Late Model point standings with an eight point cushion over Shane Edginton.
Pederson has one win on the season, which came on opening night on May 17th, backed by a runner-up finish and two fourth-place efforts.
Last Friday night at the Bullring, Pederson began the evening with a second-place finish in his heat. Pederson then rolled off eighth for the 20-lap main event. The driver of the ProPrower / Victory battled his way forward and took the checkers in the fourth position.
This weekend, Joey will be in action with the NLRA Late Models on Saturday at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, Minnesota and Sunday at River Cities Speedway. Admission for Sunday’s event is just $7.
In three visits to Greenbush last year, Joey recorded two top-five finishes with a best finish of third on June 23rd.
Tucker will also be in action at Greenbush on Saturday and at River Cities Speedway on Sunday in his No. 27P WISSOTA Street Stock. Saturday will be double features for the Streets.
Kelsi will be competing in both Greater Grand Forks Fair specials at River Cities Speedway tonight and Sunday in her NLSA Lightning Sprint. Last weekend, she scored a fourth-place finish at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. on Thursday, June 13th and a runner-up finish at Greenbush the following Saturday. While she is still looking for her first win of the season, the defending NLSA champ has yet to finish outside of the top five.
