FARGO, N.D. (June 18, 2019) – Donny Schatz and the Tony Stewart / Curb-Agajanian No. 15 team made their first appearance of the season to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa with the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series this past weekend.

Schatz turned in a solid fourth-place finish on night one of the Brownells Big Guns Bash on Friday night. Schatz started in the fifth position for the 25-lap feature and raced inside the top five all race long.

With nine laps to go, Schatz had to contend with World of Outlaws points leader, Brad Sweet. After briefly losing the position to Sweet, Schatz regained fourth and nearly stole third way from Shane Stewart on the final lap.

Heavy rain showers delayed the start to Saturday’s finale until after 10:00pm CT. Schatz rolled off in the 21st starting position for the main event and worked his way up to 15th by the time Doug Clark waved his twin checkers.

“We definitely learned a few things on what to do, and maybe what not to do, for when we come back here in August. I know this team will keep digging and keep working on this Toco car. We’ll come back ready for the big one in a couple of months,” said Schatz.

Up next, Schatz will head to Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin for the $20,000-to-win Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial. On Sunday, the 10-time World of Outlaws champion will head south to Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank Toco Warranty, Ford Performance, Curb Records, Sage Fruit, Absolute Automation & Security and J&J Auto Racing for their continued support.
