Adams Battles Adversity for Sixth-Place Finish at River Cities Speedway
REYNOLDS, N.D. (July 18, 2019) – To say Jordan Adams and the No. 20A crew had an uneventful weekend would be an understatement. The action began early for the Home of Economy / BĒT Vodka team as they had to make repairs to their machine as they were being pushed out for the feature on Friday night at River Cities Speedway.
As Adams was being pushed out on to the track, the push truck ran over Jordan’s left rear tire. After a lengthy process to get the car and push truck separated, the No. 20A crew went to work on replacing the left rear shock.
“That was quite the way to start the night wrecking stuff before we even hit the track. But the boys got the shock changed out and we made it runnable,” said Adams.
With the hard work displayed by the team, he was able to rejoin the field and start the feature in his original starting spot of 13th. Even with the chaos that ensued before the feature, Adams was able to work his way up to sixth place by the time he crossed under the checkers.
“The car was actually very good in the feature. We drove into the top-five eight laps into the race and made it up to the top three. With lapped traffic, we found ourselves on the leader’s bumpers but caught some cars at the wrong time. At the end, we faded a bit and slipped back to sixth.”
Sunday the crew headed south to finish out the Red River Valley Fair at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D. After competing in his heat, which was full of talent, Adams finished eighth and lined up 15th for the feature. While running in 10th, the motor began overheating so Adams decided to pull off the track. He was credited with a 15th place finish.
“The last few weeks we have had a lot of speed and our results haven’t shown that, so I am very excited to get back to work Friday.”
This Friday, Adams will be back at River Cities Speedway for the only Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA show on the schedule for the week. Adams currently sits fourth in the River Cities Speedway Sprint Car point standings, just 14 markers out of the lead.
Jordan and the entire 20A team would like to thank all of their partners for their continued support!
