Grosz Looks to go Back-to-Back at Jackson; Eyes Return to Knoxville This Weekend

HARWOOD, N.D. (July 19, 2019) – The Lee Grosz Racing team is hitting the road to Jackson Motorplex once again tonight to kick off a doubleheader weekend with the Midwest Power Series. On Saturday, the team will head down to Knoxville Raceway for another $3,000-to-win Midwest Power Series event at the Sprint Car Capital of the World.

Last Friday night, Grosz parked his Jimco Enterprises / Fischer Auto Body No. 4J in victory lane at Jackson.

Grosz began the night by racing from seventh to the heat race win, followed by a second place run in the dash. After starting on the pole for the 25-lap feature, Grosz led every lap around the four-tenths mile oval en route to the win.

“That win was huge. I’ve never won at Jackson on the new surface. I’ve always wanted to get that first one there because every show at Jackson pays well and there is always great competition,” said Grosz. “If you can win a race there, it’s a huge confidence booster for sure.”

On Sunday, Grosz returned to his home track, Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, N.D., to compete with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA 410 Sprints.

“We led a few laps in the heat race before Thomas [Kennedy] got by me and we finished second,” he said. “We ended up starting third in the feature and ran second for the first handful of laps to [Mark] Dobmeier. Then a yellow came out and Thomas and [Nick] Omdahl got by me.

“There was a yellow with seven to go and I went to the bottom on the restart and got by Thomas and Dobmeier. I felt like I was catching Omdahl there with a few laps to go, but the yellow came out again and Dobmeier got back around me on the restart. We ended up coming home third, but I feel good about that. There was a good field of cars.”

Lee and the entire team would like to thank all their sponsors for their continued support!
