PITTSBORO, Ind. (July 12, 2019) – Brian VanMeveren was back in action last weekend at the Sprint Car Capital of the World, Knoxville Raceway for the Corn Belt Nationals. The two-day AMSOIL USAC Sprint Car special kicked off in a good way for VanMeveren as he timed in 12th quick in group two.

“In the heat race, I started inside of the second row and got the lead going into turn one. But by the time I got into turn two, I felt my motor start to stumble. On the next restart, it just didn’t take off so I ran around for a couple of laps before having to pull in,” said VanMeveren.

“We tried to fix it for the C-Main, but when we fired off, we knew something still wasn’t right.”

Despite making an appearance on Saturday at Knoxville for the weekend finale, the engine issues ultimately brought his weekend to an end.

“We got the engine switched out and are looking forward to Gas City tonight,” said VanMeveren. “Looking beyond that, we are gearing up for Sprint Week, which is nine races in 11 days starting next Wednesday at Eldora.”

VanMeveren was also in action in the final weekend of June at Lawrenceburg Speedway, where he earned a solid ninth place finish.

“I got a lot of good laps and seat time running on top along the cushion.”

VanMeveren would like to thank all of his sponsors for their continued support!
