Grosz excited to take on 360 Knoxville Nationals
HARWOOD, N.D (August 1, 2019) – All eyes in the sprint car racing world turn to Iowa for the next 10 days during the Southern Iowa Sprint Week. It all kicks off with the MyPlace Hotels 360 Knoxville Nationals.
Lee Grosz and the Jimco Enterprises No. 4J team are set to qualify tonight. Grosz comes into this years 360 Knoxville Nationals riding a wave of momentum after a stretch of solid and consistent runs.
“This year is probably the best we’ve ever run at Knoxville, we’ve timed in decent each night we’ve been there, which is key come Nationals. Hopefully, we can get a good pill draw to start the night to take some pressure off. From there, I’m hoping we can lay down a good lap time during time trials and have things fall into place from there.”
Grosz has made three visits to Knoxville Raceway this year, recording three third-place finishes and a sixth-place effort. At one point in the year, Grosz led the 360 sprint car point standings at the speedway.
Grosz has enjoyed success during his preliminary nights at Knoxville in the past. In 2011, the Harwood, N.D. driver won his preliminary night A-main, marking his first career win at Knoxville. Since then, Lee has added two prelim night top five finishes in 2013 and 2014, where he finished fifth each time.
Grosz was last in action on July 19th at Jackson Motorplex. Following a second place run in his heat, Lee drove from 11th to fifth to earn the hard charger award in the main event.
“The car was good all night, it was a good night overall. Anytime you can run top five against 40 of the best 360 drivers in the country, that’s nothing to complain about.”
