Pierce’s Pursuit of Fifth River Cities Track Title Continues Friday
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 22, 2019) – The River Cities Speedway points race fires back up this Friday night for the 410 Sprint Cars. The last two Friday night events have not paid track or NOSA points due to the Knoxville Nationals on August 9th and a visit by the World of Outlaws on August 16th.
Entering tomorrow’s action, Austin Pierce and the Opp Construction / Lithia Ford team sit second in the track point standings, just 15 markers behind Nick Omdahl.
Pierce leads the Sprint Car division with four wins and is tied for the most top fives with eight in 12 events. Just four points-paying events remain at River Cities in the 2019 season.
Pierce is looking for his third-consecutive track title after tying Wade Nygaard in the standings last year and being named co-champion and winning it outright in 2017. The Grand Forks driver’s other two championships at the Bullring came in 2014 and 2015.
Last Friday night, Pierce took on the Outlaws at River Cities. After transferring into the 40-lap main event by way of a third-place run in the B-main, Pierce started and finished in the 21st position.
NOSA hot laps start at 6:30pm tomorrow night at River Cities Speedway with time trials to follow. Racing begins at 7pm.
The entire APR crew would like to thank their sponsors for their continued support!
