PREVIEW: Grosz Gears Up for Doubleheader Weekend Following Second Win of 2019

By Spieker Promotions

HARWOOD, N.D. (August 23, 2019) – Lee Grosz and the HI-10 Sports Center team have a big doubleheader weekend on tap, starting with tonight’s Nebraska 360 Sprint Car event at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb.

On Saturday, the team will head to the Sprint Car Capital of the World for the season finale at Knoxville Raceway. Tonight will mark Grosz’s fourth appearance of the season to I-80 Speedway. In his first three starts at the big, fast four-tenths mile oval, Grosz has two top 10 finishes with a best result of seventh on May 3rd.

Saturday will be the No. 4J team’s sixth visit of the season to Knoxville Raceway. Grosz has two podium finishes at the famed Marion County Fairgrounds half-mile and is fresh off making a 360 Knoxville Nationals championship A-main start.

Last weekend, Grosz picked up his second win of the season at Jackson Motorplex.

The night began with a great heat race performance. Grosz wheeled his way from eighth to second to secure a spot in the dash.

“I was a little nervous with the track being narrow, but I was able to get a good start and move into fourth right away,” he said. “From there, I was able to pick off a couple more cars and finish second.”

Grosz started on the front row for the main event, and after a great battle with Dominic Scelzi, took the lead.

“When (Scelzi) got by me on the start, I just told myself to be patient and wait for lapped traffic. I feel like I was able to move around pretty good. I had a good car and that made my job easier,” said Grosz.

Saturday’s event at Knoxville Raceway will be broadcast live on DIRTVision.com.
