2019 Jackson Motorplex 360 Nationals Champions!

By Spieker Promotions

HARWOOD, N.D. (September 5, 2019) – Lee Grosz picked up the biggest win of his career on Sunday night at Jackson Motorplex as he raced to victory in the Jackson 360 Nationals. “Sunday was pretty special. I’ve wanted to win that race for a long time,” said Grosz. “I’ve won the Saturday night show before, but that was the year they did the combined points so Brian Brown was the actual Jackson 360 Nationals champion that year. I’ve always wanted to get a Jackson Nationals championship and on Sunday night we finally got it.”

Grosz was strong throughout the three-day weekend at the four-tenths mile oval. In preliminary action on Friday and Saturday, Grosz finished second and third, respectively, which put him into Sunday’s dash.

Grosz started on the pole of the dash and won it to earn the pole position for the championship main event.

Grosz led every lap of the feature, but it was still a hard-fought win.

“Early on I was running around the bottom, but when I got to lapped traffic I had to move around. When the yellow came out, I didn’t really know where I needed to be or where the guys behind me were running,” he said. “With five to go, I started spinning my tires on the bottom so I went to the top and it actually felt better up there. I got the white flag and going into turn one, I caught Justin Henderson out of the corner of my eye down on the bottom. I thought it was going to be interesting going into turn three because I was expecting a slide job. Going down the back straightaway, I just told myself to drive it into the corner as hard as I can and don’t make any mistakes.

“Luckily, I hit the corner perfectly, never saw the slide job, and held him off for the win.”

The win was Grosz’s third at Jackson Motorplex this year and fourth overall.

Grosz will return to action at Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, Iowa on Friday with the MSTS 360s. On Saturday, his tentative plan is to run at Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin with the Midwest Power Series.

Lee and the entire team would like to thank all their sponsors for their continued support!
