GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 5, 2019) – Tonight the 2019 NLRA season will come to a close at the Prelude to the Johnny at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Three-time NLRA champion, Brad Seng, has a 30 point lead over Shane Edginton coming into the night atop the NLRA standings.

Seng has three wins at River Cities Speedway in 2019, including one NLRA victory on July 26th.

Last Friday night, all three NLRA championship contenders, Seng, Edginton and Dustin Strand battled for the win at the Bullring.

Seng led the majority of the 20-lap main event, but Edginton snuck underneath him in the closing laps as Seng got held up by lapped traffic. Seng went on to finish third behind Strand as Edginton collected his first career River Cities Speedway win.

On Saturday and Sunday, Seng made the trek to Viking Speedway in Alexandria, Minn. for the NLRA doubleheader. Seng took over the series point lead on Saturday night with a solid fourth-place finish. The Grand Forks driver backed that up with an 11th place run on Sunday evening.

Following the NLRA season championship tonight, the biggest Late Model weekend of the year at River Cities continues with the 13th annual John Seitz Memorial. Seng is one of just two drivers to have two career Seitz Memorial titles. Those wins came in 2011 and 2013.

In last year’s 92-lap main event, Seng came home in the 15th position running AJ Diemel’s backup car after destroying his No. 12S MB Customs at Viking the weekend prior.
