Kelsi Pederson Caps off 2019 Season with Runner-up Finish in NLSA Standings

By Spieker Promotions

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (September 20, 2019) – With River Cities Speedway raining out last Friday night, Kelsi Pederson’s 2019 season is now concluded.

After 24 events, she collected an incredible 21 top-five finishes, including six feature wins. Those wins came at River Cities Speedway (twice), Norman County Raceway, Tri-County Speedway, Jamestown Speedway and Greenbush Race Park.

She also picked up eight heat race wins over the course of the season.

Pederson wheeled her way to a second-place finish in the NLSA Lightning Sprint point standings, finishing just 14 points shy of defending her 2018 title.

Joey and Tucker Pederson were both last in action Sept. 5-7 at the 13th annual John Seitz Memorial at River Cities Speedway. Joey had good speed throughout the three-day event, but bad luck plagued his weekend.

After having an issue with the rear end on Thursday, the crew made repairs on Friday for the qualifying night for Saturday’s 92-lap feature. Joey charged from seventh to fourth in his heat, which put him in the 14th starting position for the feature on Saturday.

Thirty laps in, Pederson suffered another mechanical failure as he lost fuel pressure while running in the eighth spot, ending his night.

Tucker also had a strong run on Saturday night of the Seitz Memorial. After finishing eighth in his heat, he transferred into the main event by way of a fourth-place run in the B-main from the seventh starting position.

Tucker lined up 20th on the grid but began slicing his way through the field at the drop of the green flag. After cracking the top 10 on lap four, he continued his climb up the running order and moved into the top five on lap 14 of 20. Coming to the white flag, Tucker was running in fourth when the engine expired in his No. 27P machine, ruining one of his best drives of the season.

He was credited with 13th place, but it was still a strong way to end his season at his home track.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
