FARGO, N.D. (October 21, 2019) – Donny Schatz picked up his 10th World of Outlaws Sprint Car feature win on Friday night at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, Kan. Schatz charged from the fifth position to take the lead from Brian Brown and lead the final 17 laps en route to his second career win at the speedway.

The win came in Schatz’s third start with the Ford FPS 410 engine, giving Ford its first World of Outlaws win since 1998.

“It was big to get the win on Friday,” said Schatz. “Rick Warner has done an awesome job with the motor program. It’s got two thirds and a win now, so it has a lot of promise to it. These Toco Warranty guys are incredible. They have given 100 percent every night this year and they never give up.”

Schatz went into Saturday night’s Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo. with a 24 point gap between himself and point leader Brad Sweet.

Schatz started the 41-lap main event in the 14th starting position and worked his way up to eighth at the checkers. Despite advancing six positions, Schatz lost eight points to Sweet, who finished fourth, to make the gap 32 markers heading into this weekend’s doubleheader at Port Royal (PA) Speedway.

Even with the end of the season drawing near, Schatz isn’t worried about chasing points.

“I’ve never been one to race for points. I go out there to win every race. If you are able to do that, the points take care of themselves,” said Schatz. “At this point, I don’t care about finishing second or third. I’m going to go out every night and do everything I can to get the win.”

Schatz has won the previous two World of Outlaws events at Port Royal Speedway, including last year’s $51,000-to-win Tuscarora 50. He has three total victories at the half-mile oval.

Schatz leads all drivers with six victories in 2019 on half-mile configurations.

Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank Toco WarrantyFord PerformanceCurb RecordsSage Fruit, Absolute Automation & Security and J&J Auto Racing for their continued support.
