GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 22, 2020) – The Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13 team is en route to Pevely, Missouri to take on the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 this weekend. Tonight’s event will be Mark Dobmeier’s 2020 debut with the “Greatest Show on Dirt” and he’s looking forward to it taking place at one of the most unique speedway’s in the country.

“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s been years and years since I’ve been there. With not a whole lot going on, we figured we would jump on any races we can right now,” said Dobmeier. “It’s a short track. If I remember correctly, it’s a lot like Huset’s or River Cities Speedway. We’ll go down there, get some more bugs worked out, and hopefully we come away with some good finishes.”

Over 65 of the best 410 Sprint Car drivers in the country are pre-registered for the doubleheader weekend at I-55.

In Dobmeier’s previous two visits to the speedway, he came just shy of transferring into the main event with 5th and 6th place finishes in the B-main on April 1, 2006 and April 17, 2010, respectively.

This past weekend, Dobmeier had a solid run at the Great Lakes Shootout at Jackson Motorplex. A stout field of nearly 60 competitors were checked in for action at the four-tenths mile oval on Friday night. Saturday’s event and Sunday’s rain date were canceled due to soggy conditions.

Dobmeier cruised to the heat race win from the third position to earn himself a spot in the dash to start the night on Friday.

“I capitalized on (Kerry) Madsen getting called for a jumped start and moved up to the pole for the restart of the heat. I had a good run and things were clicking and banging right away so it was nice to have things go smoothly right out of the gate,” said Dobmeier. “We tried some things in the dash and they definitely didn’t work, so we changed everything back around for the feature.”

Dobmeier rolled off 12th in the main event.

“We had an okay car for the feature, but it turned into a one-lane racetrack somewhat,” he said. “I knew everyone was going to be going for the bottom so I elected to try middle to the top to see if I could whiz around some guys on that first lap. It didn’t work out so good, I went backward instead of forward. By the time I got back in line, I was sitting right about where I finished in 19th.”
