Grosz looks to ride momentum into Saturday’s Knoxville Raceway opener

By Spieker Promotions

HARWOOD, N.D. (June 4, 2020) – Lee Grosz’s strong start to the 2020 season continued last Saturday night at I-90 Speedway in Harford, S.D. as he collected a runner-up finish with the MSTS 360s. Grosz will look to carry that momentum as he heads to the Sprint Car Capital of the World this weekend to compete at the Knoxville Raceway season opener. In his first two visits to the Marion County Fairgrounds last year, Grosz came away with a pair of third-place finishes. Those two podium finishes gave the Harwood driver the points lead in the 360 division after the first two weeks of action.

Grosz’s success at Knoxville didn’t end there as he returned to score a sixth-place finish on June 1st and earned a starting position in the championship main event of the 360 Knoxville Nationals.

Last weekend, Grosz backed up his fifth-place run at Park Jefferson Speedway with a second-place effort at I-90 Speedway.

A second-place finish in his heat put Grosz on the inside of row two for the 25-lap MSTS main event. Grosz quickly moved his way forward to take the lead, but fell back near the halfway point. Grosz made a late rally to come home second.

“You’re never really happy with second after you had been leading, but I just got outsmarted in lapped traffic,” admitted Grosz. “I feel like we had decent speed but Jack was just better than us. Nothing to hang our head on though. It was fun getting back there, the track surface was good and racy in the feature.”

Grosz will look to extend his streak of top fives to three this weekend at Knoxville Raceway. Fans can catch all of the action on DIRTVision.com.

Lee and the entire team would like to thank all their sponsors for their continued support!
