Dobmeier excited for three-day Cedar Lake weekend with the Outlaws
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 2, 2020) – It may be a holiday weekend, but there will be no days off for Mark Dobmeier and the Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports No. 13 team. Dobmeier and crew are headed to Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wis. for the Independence Day Spectacular triple-header, featuring both the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars and Late Models.
“Cedar Lake is a fun little three-eighths mile track that gets very racy. We’ve had a lot of success there,” said Dobmeier. “It’s a small, little bullring – my type of track. With what we’ve learned on the car so far this year, I’m pretty excited to see what we can do this weekend.”
Dobmeier picked up a top five finish with the IRA Sprints at Cedar Lake in his most recent visit to the speedway last September.
Team 13 has spent the majority of this year fine-tuning the setup on their Don Ott powered Maxim.
“We have definitely been gaining some speed and are getting where we need to be,” said Dobmeier. “Every time we’ve hit the track, we have been learning and wearing the bolts out on everything. We are very close to where we need to be so I’m excited to get on a short track, especially one that we’ve run well on in the past, and see how we stack up.”
Last weekend, Dobmeier was at Jackson Motorplex for the 42nd annual AGCO Jackson Nationals.
“Had a strong car, but not the results we wanted. We got caught in a melee the first night, the second night we started deep in the B-main and had a strong run to get into a transfer and ended up 20th in the feature. The third night we ended up in the B again and were one spot away from transferring into the A.”
