Jason Strand picks up runner-up finish at River Cities!
PORTLAND, N.D. (July 8, 2020) – Jason Strand returned to River Cities Speedway on Friday night for his second week of action since taking the 2019 season off.
After finishing fourth in his heat race, Strand redrew the pole position for the 18-lap feature.
In his new Millenium Chassis, Strand took the point from the pole position, but not before a three-wide race for the lead with Lance Schill and Cole Neset. Strand then pulled away from the rest of the field and looked to be the class of the field.
Strand ran uncontested until the final caution flew with seven of 18 laps remaining. On the ensuing restart, Strand pushed in turns one and two which opened up the door for Lance Schill. Schill pounced on the opportunity and took the lead down the back straightaway and went on to take the win. Strand crossed the checkers in second.
Strand will look to back up his solid performance this weekend at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. on Thursday and again at River Cities Speedway on Friday.
