Kelsi Pederson Scores Two More Podiums After Summer Break

By Spieker Promotions

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (July 22, 2020) – With the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint schedule being pretty thin for nearly three weeks, Kelsi Pederson was finally able to get the No. 93 Northland Sheds / AdMonkeys Henchcraft back on the race track twice last week.

Kelsi began her weekend on Thursday night at the Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN, as she took to the lightning-quick three-eighths mile oval for the first time in 2020.

Kelsi started and finished third in her heat race, handing her the seventh starting spot in the main event.

Starting seventh is never a welcome sight in these momentum-based machines, but that didn’t stop Kelsi from charging up to fourth place by the time the field reached the backstretch for the first time in the 10 lap event.

Kelsi was able to remain in the fourth position, despite a caution with six circuits remaining.

Kelsi spent the final five circuits chasing down the final spot on the podium, which she was able to grab on the final lap.

Saturday night brought another first-time visit of the 2020 campaign, this time at the Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN, following many races lost to the COVID-19 pandemic, and one rainout.

It wasn’t the best of starts to the night, as Kelsi was unable to finish her heat race, setting her up with the daunting task of starting 12th in the main event.

After a caution on the initial start, Kelsi powered through the field on the restart, moving all the way up to the fourth position. Another caution with one lap complete re-stacked the field.

It wasn’t the best of re-starts for Kelsi, as she fell back to seventh, but began to climb forward for the second time, passing Thursday’s winner Dexter Dvergsten, Alan Truscinski, and Cody Swenson to move into second place on a restart with six laps remaining.

Kelsi spent the final three circuits running even with Alex Truscinski for a final bid for the victory. She came up just short of an incredible win from the 12th starting spot, finishing as the runner-up.

Kelsi’s brother Tucker joined her in Greenbush, and headed into the night as the most recent winner in the Street Stock division at the track, winning the opener one week prior in the Olson Underground No. 27.

Tucker did the same as his sister, making a strong late-race comeback, moving from eighth to fifth on the 10th circuit of the scheduled 15. Tucker was able to bring a fourth-place run home with him before heading to River Cities on Sunday night.

On Sunday, Joey joined Tucker at River Cities for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series race. Tucker again started sixth as he did the night before in Greenbush, and made his charge early on in the 15 lapper, moving from fifth to second from laps four to seven.

After swapping second with Aaron Blacklance in the waning circuits, Tucker finished in the third spot.

Joey put the No. 7P Dahlstrom Motors Victory Chassis through its paces with the some of the best Late Model drivers in the world, putting down an eight best qualifying lap in his group, a sixth-place run in his heat, and a 20th place finish in the 50-lap main event.

This weekend, Joey and Tucker will return to River Cities Speedway on Friday. On Saturday, Tucker and Kelsi will be back in action at Greenbush Race Park.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
