Pierce charges to top five at River Cities

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 8, 2020) – Austin Pierce remains perfect in the top-five column after a solid run on Friday night at River Cities Speedway with the NOSA Sprints.
After setting Quick Time in qualifying to start the night, Pierce found himself buried in heat race number one. Pierce started sixth, but finished seventh on the fast and narrow racing surface.
Pierce missed the redraw spot by one position, lining himself up in the ninth spot for the 25-lap feature. The two-time NOSA champion went up and down the running order throughout the first half of the race before finding his groove and working his way forward.
Pierce advanced four positions in as many laps to take over the sixth spot on lap six. On the final lap, Pierce moved around Shane Roemeling to collect his fifth top five finish of the season.
The driver of the Opp Construction / Lithia Ford No. 2A currently holds a seven point lead over Chris Ranten in both the NOSA and River Cities Speedway standings.
Pierce will return to action on Friday night with the NOSA Sprints at River Cities Speedway. Time trials are at 6:30pm with racing at 7:00pm.
