RECAP: Brendan Mullen scores first career NOSA win at Jamestown Speedway!

By Spieker Promotions

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 28, 2020) – For the first time in his career, Brendan Mullen was a winner with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints on Saturday night at Jamestown Speedway.

Mullen dominated the 25-lap feature, leading every trip around the high-banked quarter-mile oval.

When asked how it feels to get his first NOSA win, Mullen replied, “Overdue. I feel like we’ve been really close and getting a lot better lately, but have just had bad luck or I have made mistakes or have just been too aggressive. It feels good to get the first one out of the way. Hopefully, we can take this momentum to Mandan.”

Mullen drove out to a big lead early on, but NOSA point leader Jade Hastings tracked him down in the closing laps.

“I saw [Hastings] getting into lapped traffic once and I thought, ‘Oh boy, here he comes,’” said Mullen. “We were getting tighter and tighter in the rubber as the race went on. On that final corner, we made just a little bit of contact, but I had enough room to sneak by and beat him back to the checkered.”

The win was Mullen’s second of his career. His first came with the Canadian-American Outlaw Sprint Series at Devils Lake Speedway on August 24, 2019.

Mullen will be back in action with the NOSA Sprints this weekend at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, N.D. for the two-night Governor’s Cup.
