RECAP: Strand records fourth podium finish of 2020 at Norman County

By Spieker Promotions

PORTLAND, N.D. (July 28, 2020) – Jason Strand’s hot start to his 2020 season continued last Thursday night at Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn. Strand picked up his fourth podium finish in six events with a third-place run in the feature.

Strand started fifth in his heat race and had a strong run going until a slip up on the final lap cost him two positions. He went on to finish fourth.

That put the North Dakota Corn Council / Butler Machinery No. E85 in the eighth starting position for the 12-lap main event.

Strand wasted no time moving to the front as he cracked the top five on lap seven before moving around Jeff Nelson for fourth on lap nine and stole the final podium position from defending NCR track champion, Reise Stenberg, on the final lap.

Excluding Strand’s first night of action this season where he was involved in an incident not of his doing, the Portland driver has an average starting position of 6.6 with an averaging finishing position of 2.6, including a $2,000 victory at Devils Lake Speedway on July 18th.

Next up, Strand will head back to Norman County Raceway this Thursday night.

The races will be broadcast live on XR.
