A pair of podium finishes for Nygaard highlight NOSA weekend
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 10, 2020) – Wade Nygaard and his No. C&M Ford 9N crew unloaded at a two familiar tracks this past weekend. He was able to work through adversity and finish the weekend with two podium finishes.
On Thursday night, Nygaard unloaded at a track where he has found much success, Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., with the Buffalo Wild Wings Northern Outlaw Sprint Association (NOSA). After a caution-plagued heat race, Nygaard pulled off early after receiving front end damage.
The No. 9N lined up shotgun on the field, in 17th, having his work cut out for him. The seven-time winner at Norman County masterfully worked his way through the field early in the going. On the opening lap, he had moved up to 12th, gaining positions with every lap. By lap 11, he had settled in the fourth spot. After a restart on lap 18, he moved into third where he would collect the checkered flag.
The following night was a home race at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. After a second-place finish in his heat, Wade lined up seventh in the feature. Again, he made big moves on lap one, putting himself in the fourth spot. A caution flew after the first lap was completed, setting up a double file restart.
On lap two, he got up to third and set his sights for the second spot. He gained that spot by lap seven, but began battling with Austin Pierce for the position. He finished the night with another third place run.
Coming up for the Auto Finance Super Center/Bosh Enterprises No. 9N team is another stop at River Cities Speedway on Friday, August 14th.
