Pierce claims podium finish at River Cities!

By Spieker Promotions

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 10, 2020) –  The quest for becoming the fourth most winningest Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Car driver will have to wait another week. The Opp Construction No. 2A was as close as he could come to getting it this weekend without completing it.

After timing in second-quick to start the night at River Cities Speedway, Austin lined up sixth for the heat race. He moved up three spots to finish third which lined him up in sixth, once again, for the 17-car, 25-lap feature.

At the drop of the green, Austin fell back to eighth but a caution flew after the completion of the first lap. It took five laps for Pierce to find his groove, but when he did, he was on the move.

Using the high side, the No. 2A machine began picking off fellow competitors. On lap 19, he had worked himself into the third spot, but with a caution on the next lap, he was able to close the gap between him and the second place car of Wade Nygaard.

The two began trading slide jobs until Austin was able to win the second spot outright. He went on to finish the race in that spot, just one spot shy of a win for the history books.

Coming up this weekend is his weekly stop at River Cities Speedway this Friday night. Hot laps and qualifying are at 6:30pm with racing at 7pm.

The entire APR crew would like to thank their sponsors for their continued support!
