Solid Runs With The Big Guns After Friday Night Bad Luck

REYNOLDS, N.D. (September 10, 2020) – It was a busy weekend for Jordan Adams and the DEKALB Asgrow SeedElite / Pole Buildings LLP No. 20A team, as a normal race night at River Cities turned into an early morning of repairs before the team headed south to Huset’s Speedway to take on the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series.

On Friday night at River Cities Speedway, Adams started fourth in his heat race based off his points position at the speedway for the annual Track Championship night. After finishing fourth in his heat race, Adams lined up seventh for the main event.

Jordan was still running in seventh during the feature at the beginning of the ninth lap, when he and another car made contact heading into turn one. Adams was fortunate to keep the 20A from flipping over, but a broken front axle ended his night early.

“We finished up working on the car and got home around 2:30.” Adams said after Friday night’s mishap. “[We] caught a quick nap, and were back at the shop early to finish things up and get on the road to Sioux Falls. Front end, rear end, shocks, and other small things were all needing to be fixed up after Friday’s wreck.”

Saturday, Adams and the 20A crew made the five hour drive south to the newly reopened Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota to run with the World of Outlaws.

Adams missed his qualifying spot due to an issue with the magneto, but the crew was able to make repairs for the heat race.

Jordan lined up last in the 12-lap last chance showdown, but was able to make seven passes to finish 10th.

“We had a small mag issue, which led us to missing our hot laps and qualifying spot.” Adams said after his opening night at Huset’s. “[The mag issue] could have been from traveling, or from the impact of the wreck Friday night, but it landed us behind the ball when we ultimately had one of the best pill draws we could have hoped for. We got rolling for the heat race, made some adjustments for the B main, and got the car working pretty good. We passed quite a few cars, and could work the top or bottom. I hit the wall and knocked out the jacobs ladder towards the end of the B main but still made some passes after that.”

On Sunday night’s show at Huset’s, Adams qualified 15th and finished seventh in his heat race. Jordan lined up seventh in the last chance showdown, and came up just short of a transfer spot, in the eighth position.

[The car] felt a lot better,” Adams said after Sunday’s go at Huset’s. “We qualified better, we raced better, and ran sixth to eighth in the B main with some very heavy hitters.”

Adams and crew will be back at River Cities Speedway this Friday for the annual running of the Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Challenge with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints, with racing beginning at 7pm.

Jordan and the entire 20A team would like to thank all of their partners for their continued support!
