EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (September 2, 2020) – A third place run at Greenbush Race Park for Tucker Pederson in the No. 27P Shawn Horn Crary Realty / Amy Dallum Photography Street Stock helped him close in on his first track championship, as he’ll head into the final weekend of racing action at Greenbush with a 14 point lead.
The Pederson boys led off the weekend with another night of action at River Cities Speedway. Both Tucker and Joey collected top-10 runs, as Tucker came home eighth, with Joey finishing ninth in the No. 7P Lind Electric / Votava Trucking Victory.
Last Saturday night, the Pederson kids headed to their weekly stomping grounds at Greenbush Race Park, with Kelsi scoring another heat win, and Tucker charging from sixth to third in his heat race.
Kelsi’s night was shorter than expected, however, as she was running sixth on the third lap, when she was collected in a backstretch pileup that caused considerable damage to the No. 93 Northland Sheds / Dahlstrom Motors Henchcraft.
Tucker started seventh in his feature and was running in the top five just five circuits into the 15 lap event. Two more passes on Street Stock Tour regular Daniel Aberle on lap eight, and veteran John Halvorson with two laps remaining, earned Tucker a podium finish.
Tucker will carry a 14 point lead into the final weekend at Greenbush, while Kelsi will have to chip away at a 19 point deficit in the final month of Lucas Oil POWRi Minn-Kota/NLSA Lightning Sprint season.
Both Tucker and Joey will return to River Cities on Friday before Tucker and Kelsi wrap up their Greenbush schedules on Saturday and Sunday.
The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
