Back-to-back podiums puts Grosz atop Knoxville 360 standings

HARWOOD, N.D. (April 29, 2021) – A stellar start to the season at the Sprint Car Capital of the World has put Lee Grosz on top of the Knoxville Raceway 360 point standings two races into the season. Following his third-place effort during the season opener, Grosz backed that up with a runner-up finish last Saturday night.

“It’s a good feeling (to be the points leader), but it’s only two nights into the 13-14 race schedule,” said Grosz. “A lot can happen between now and the end of the year.”

A stout field of thirty-seven 360 Sprint Cars were checked in on Saturday. A strong start to the night put Grosz fourth on the starting grid for the main event.

Early on, Grosz rode in third behind Scott Bogucki and Josh Higday. After moving by Bogucki for second, Grosz set his sights on Higday for the lead.

“I thought we might have had a chance to win. (The leaders) kind of got away from me there for a little bit. Towards the end, I felt like I started reeling in (Higday) once he got into lapped traffic. Clean air at Knoxville is so crucial. He was fast out front by himself. Once he finally caught lapped cars, the checkered flag was out.”

Grosz crossed the line in second.

To date, Grosz has competed in four events and has collected three podium finishes. His lone finish outside of the podium was an eighth-place effort against a strong contingent of drivers at I-80 Speedway.

“We’ve had a lot of speed pretty much everywhere we’ve went and I feel like we’ve gained speed each time we’ve gone to Knoxville,” said Grosz. “We tried a little bit different set up last week there and I feel like we gained a little but I also think there’s more speed we can find too. Hopefully, we can keep improving each time we go out and hopefully start picking off a few wins here shortly.”

Grosz will take the next few weekends off before returning to action at I-80 Speedway on May 14th, followed by a visit to Knoxville Raceway on May 15th.

Lee and the entire team would like to thank all their sponsors for their continued support!
