Midwest tripleheader on tap for Schatz, Tony Stewart Racing
FARGO, N.D. (April 29, 2021) – There’s no time for rest on the World of Outlaws trail. Just four days after completing the highly anticipated Bristol Throwdown at Bristol Motor Speedway, the Outlaws are back in action Thursday, April 29 at Jacksonville Speedway in Illinois, followed by a pair of events at the newly resurrected I-70 Speedway in Odessa, Missouri on Friday and Saturday.
Jacksonville Speedway is one of the few tracks on the World of Outlaws schedule at which Schatz has yet to win. With that said, the Outlaws have only visited the tight quarter-mile three times prior to Thursday’s event.
In the two most recent visits to the speedway, Schatz has picked up the KSE Hard Charger award, advancing from 16th to fourth in 2016 and 17th to fourth in 2019. His only other start at the speedway was a third-place effort in 2014, putting his average finish at the track at an impressive 3.67.
This weekend’s doubleheader at I-70 Speedway will be Schatz’s first visit to the speedway. The half-mile oval has bounced from dirt to an asphalt oval a few times over the years before becoming dormant for the past decade. The last time the speedway hosted a World of Outlaws event was 35 years ago. Steve Kinser took the win that June night in 1986.
“I’m really looking forward to getting to I-70 this weekend,” said Schatz. “The transformation that’s been done there is nothing short of incredible. Whenever an idle track undergoes a renovation and is reopened, that’s a good thing. We are coming off a couple of decent runs at Bristol so hopefully we can carry that into these next three races.”
Schatz remains seventh in the points following last weekend’s action at Bristol Motor Speedway, but took the deficit from 184 points behind leader Brad Sweet down to 160.
Schatz and the entire Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team would like to thank all of their great partners for their continued support!
