Grosz Captures Sixth Place Run At Rapid Speedway

HARWOOD, N.D. (May 26, 2021) – Lee Grosz returned to racing action last Friday night at the Rapid Speedway in Rock Rapids, IA with the MSTS Sprint Series, scoring a sixth place run.
Grosz started his night at the Rapid Speedway with a poor draw, starting seventh in his heat race, but battling back to fifth by the end of the race.
The fifth place heat race finish earned him the 11th starting spot for the main event.
Lee had already climbed into the top 10 at the completion of the opening round and up to eighth at the end of the third circuit.
Grosz then moved up to seventh on lap seven, going to the outside of Dusty Ballenger for the position.
He spent the next handful of laps chasing down Troy Schreurs for the sixth spot. Grosz made the pass with nine laps to go.
“It was a pretty good night,” Grosz said postrace. “I drew a tough heat, and drew worse than anyone. Got to fifth, which didn’t get me much for passing points.
“In the feature, I was making pretty good headway,” Grosz continued. “Got to sixth, but the track rubbered up, and I felt like I could’ve been a top three car if it wouldn’t have rubbered, but we found some things for the slick that should work pretty good.”
This Friday, Lee Grosz will take the 4J to the Jackson Motorplex to race with the Midwest Power Series, then on Saturday Grosz will continue to follow the Midwest Power Series to the I-90 Speedway in Hartford, SD.
About returning to Jackson, Grosz said, “Last years’ season at Jackson got cut short. I think we only raced there twice and I’m really looking forward to getting back there. It’s treated us well in the past couple years. We’ve had good speed all year, and we found a few things at Knoxville that made us better there, and I think will help us at Jackson.”
