Nygaard set for four-race Memorial Day weekend with NOSA!
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (May 24, 2021) – Wade Nygaard and the Nygaard Motorsports team returned to River Cities on Friday night, charging from outside of row five to complete the podium with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Cars.
Nygaard had an inauspicious start to his night at the River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks last Friday, finishing 13th in qualifying and fourth in his heat race. These results placed him in the back half of the field in 10th starting spot in the main event.
Nygaard made some steady gains early, as he climbed up to seventh in the first five circuits of the 25 lap feature.
Nygaard spent the following five trips around the quarter-mile Bullring passing his teammate Brendan Mullen, Nick Omdahl, and Tim Estenson, improving to fourth with 10 in the books.
Nygaard then raced through the midpoint of the race chasing down the top three, and remained within striking distance until a caution with three laps left.
On the final restart of the race, Nygaard made one more pass, improving to third with a pass on Jack Croaker.
Nygaard completed the podium as the checkers flew, making up seven spots in the main event.
Next up for the Nygaard Motorsports team will be a four-race weekend with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprint Cars. River Cities Speedway on Friday night will be the first race, as the series will head back to South Dakota for three more races, including the series debut at the Park Jefferson Speedway in North Sioux City, SD. Two more events at the Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, SD round out the weekend on Memorial Day weekend on Sunday and Monday.
