Another Charge To A Top Ten; Norman County Up Next For Strand
PORTLAND, N.D. (June 24, 2021) – After charging from 11th to 7th in the feature last week at the River Cities Speedway, Jason Strand and the E85 team will head back to Norman County Raceway in Ada, MN tonight with the NLRA Late Models.
Last Friday night at River Cities, Strand started his night with a fourth place run in his heat race, setting up an 11th place start in the 20 lap main event.
Strand charged into the top 10 right at the drop of the green, and continued to move through the field, as he ran in the eighth spot through five laps.
From there, Strand and Tom Corcoran waged war for the seventh spot, spending multiple laps door-do-door.
Strand fell back a spot a few laps later, but used a late caution to make two passes, finishing the feature in the seventh spot.
“In the feature, there was a caution with six or seven to go, and I started rolling around the top side. I was up to about fifth at that time, and that caution came out. I showed everyone that line, and that line went away,” said Strand of his run during the feature. “But overall, I was happy with it. I came off the track with no dented tin, so that was good.”
This week the E85 will run at Norman County Raceway on Thursday night, at Devils Lake Speedway on Saturday night, and at River Cities Speedway on Sunday, all with the Northern Late Model Racing Association.
“I’m excited to get back to Ada. I’m excited to get back to my home track and race there. The Golden Hammer race [at Devils Lake], $2,000-to-win, that will be exciting, too.”
