Double Duty For Strand At River Cities; Three Race Weekend With NLRA Up Next

By Spieker Promotions

PORTLAND, N.D. (June 2, 2021) – Jason Strand continued his 2021 racing season last Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, running both his No. E85 Late Model and Jory Berg’s No. E0 Midwest Modified, collecting runs of 12th and 9th, respectively.

Strand started both his heat races with the fourth starting spot on Friday at River Cities. He finished fourth in the B-Mod, and fifth in the Late Model. He had to drive off the top of turn four in his Late Model to avoid contact with another driver, restarting in the back and charging back up to fifth.

Starting deep in the field in both features, Strand started 11th in the B-Mod feature. He spent the majority of the 18-lap race in and around the top-10, finishing in the ninth spot.

Starting deep in the field in the 15th spot in the 20-lap Late Model feature, Strand was once again around the top-10. Strand was able to secure a 12th place finish at the conclusion of the Late Model feature.

“I moved up to try some stuff and get a feel for the car, and maybe learn some,” Strand said after the Late Model feature. “We passed a few cars back. The car is good. I just need to do better in the heat races so I don’t start [so far back] in the feature.”

Strand will run all three nights with the NLRA Late Models this weekend starting on Friday night at River Cities Speedway as the series co-headlines with the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars.

Saturday night, Strand will run at I-94 Sure Step Speedway Fergus Falls for the Dick Johanneck Memorial, then end his weekend at Buffalo River Speedway for the first NLRA show there in six years.

“It’s gonna be a different atmosphere,” Strand said about his first chance to run in front of the big crowd at a World of Outlaws weekend at River Cities. “I’m looking forward to getting back to Buffalo River, too. It’s nice to see those guys pushing it to get people out there. I haven’t raced there a ton, but every time I run there, I feel like I have good luck there.”
