Mullen Claims A Pair Of Top Fives During Busy Five-Race Stretch
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 23, 2021) – Brendan Mullen and the entire Mullen Motorsports team had a full plate last week, as they ran five races in five consecutive nights, highlighted by a pair of top fives at River Cities on Friday night, and at Ogilvie Raceway in 360 competition.
Mullen started his week off with the third-best lap in qualifying and a second-place run in his heat race, earning him a spot in the NOSA feature redraw.
Mullen started the 25-lap race on the outside of the front row, leading laps one through six to start the main event.
A caution flag cost him the lead as he continued to race in a podium position while battling with his teammate Wade Nygaard.
Mullen held off his teammate through a pair of cautions with nine laps to go, and one final caution with three to go, to secure a fourth-place finish.
On Saturday night, the team headed east to the Ogilvie Speedway, where Mullen finished third in his heat race, and started the feature in the 10th position.
Mullen started a charge early on in the 25-lap race around the three-eighths mile oval, moving up and into the top five in the first five laps of the main event.
On a late green-white-checkered restart, Mullen went three wide with Chris Graf and Lee Grosz in a bid for the runner-up spot, but took the checkers in the third spot.
The weekend concluded for Mullen with three nights of action at the Huset’s Speedway, two of which were with the World of Outlaws, highlighted by a 13th place run on Sunday night.
On the schedule for the Mullen Motorsports team this week will just be a Friday night stop to their home track of River Cities Speedway.
