Three big nights ahead for Pederson Racing this weekend

By Spieker Promotions

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (June 16, 2021) – It was another action-packed week for the Pederson boys last weekend, as Joey and Tucker returned to their home track, River Cities Speedway, last Friday night before both made the trip to Greenbush Race Park on Saturday.

Both Joey and Tucker had their share of tough luck at the draw window to start the night on Friday, with Tucker pulling a seventh place start for his heat race, and Joey pulling a fifth place start for his heat.

The pair made a total of three passes combined, finishing fifth and fourth respectively in their heats, giving Tucker the 12th starting spot for his 15 lap feature, and Joey the 10th starting spot for his 20 lap main event.

Tucker made gains early on in his feature, using the cushion to climb into the top 10 in the first half of the race.

Tucker caught up to, and became part of a six-car battle for a spot inside the top five, but ran out of laps and came home in the 10th spot.

Joey utilized the bottom of the quarter-mile Bullring to move into the top 10 on the opening lap of the Late Model feature, then avoided disaster a few laps later, coming to a stop before making contact with another car.

After the caution, Joey spent a handful of laps battling eventual winner Brody Troftgruben for fifth, and ended his race in a four-car battle for the spot, finishing sixth.

The duo headed north to Greenbush on Saturday night, where Tucker started the night by scoring a win in his heat race. Tucker led early in the feature and ran inside the podium until his race ended early on lap 10.

Joey started deep in the field in the 16th spot and, despite challenging track conditions, passed five cars during the feature to come home 11th.

This week, the Pederson family will start the week Thursday night with Kelsi resuming her season with the Lucas Oil POWRi Minn Kota Lightning Sprints at the Norman County Raceway. After another night at River Cities for the Pederson boys, Kelsi and Tucker will head to the Devils Lake Speedway to round out the weekend on Saturday night.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
