Dobmeier ready for River Cities/Huset’s weekend

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 23, 2021) – Mark Dobmeier is gearing up for visits to his two home tracks this weekend. He will be at River Cities Speedway tonight and Huset’s Speedway on Saturday. Dobmeier put two more races under his belt last week as he scored a podium finish in the No. 13 Buffalo Wild Wings / Lunstra Motorsports at River Cities Speedway last Friday night.
Dobmeier started the night last Friday at River Cities with the fifth starting spot in his heat race, as the BWW NOSA Sprints co-headlined with the World of Outlaws Late Model series. NOSA ran their passing points format, so a second place finish in his heat made Dobmeier the top points earner in heat race competition.
After a ten car invert for the 25 lap main event, Dobmeier started the race on the outside of the fifth row. The initial start was called back, but the following 15 laps went caution free, as Dobmeier climbed into the top five with ten laps to go.
Dobmeier climbed through the field with Brendan Mullen and Wade Nygaard, as the trio fought for the final spots inside the top five in the final ten laps.
After another pair of cautions late, Dobmeier finished in the third spot. He is yet to finish outside the top three after his first three races at River Cities since his return.
On Sunday, the 13 team headed back to the Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, SD, where Dobmeier started the night with the seventh quickest lap in time trials, and a second place run in his heat race, setting up a second place start in the feature.
Dobmeier ran wheel-to-wheel early with Lynton Jeffrey for the second spot. The pair both passed early leader Tyler Drueke to move into first and second respectively, but a tangle on the backstretch while battling for the lead saw Dobmeier have to restart at the back of the field. Dobmeier climbed back from the rear of the field to finish 12th.
This week, Dobmeier will do the River Cities and Huset’s double, once again, with a trip to the Fargo Air Show on Saturday, where the Buffalo Wild Wings machine will be on display.
