Hastings continues pursuit of second series title this weekend!
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 23, 2021) – Jade Hastings scored a runner-up finish last Friday night at River Cities Speedway in the Ault Construction No. 8H, as the defending Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA champion closed to within ten points of the points lead.
Hastings and the rest of the NOSA regulars spent last Friday night co-headlining with the World of Outlaws Late Model series, with NOSA using their passing points format. Hastings drew the pole for his heat race, which he won, sending him into the inversion draw.
Hastings started fifth in the 25 lap main event, and worked his way onto the podium in the first lap of the race. The first caution of the race was a red with ten laps to go, but by that time, Hastings was closing in on race long leader Austin Pierce for the top spot.
A pair of cautions followed the red and Hastings took that opportunity to pull even with Pierce on a number of occasions in the closing laps.
Hastings finished second just behind Pierce, and in doing so, pulled back to within ten points of the series points lead, as the 8H crew continues their pursuit of a second consecutive series championship.
“Friday went really good,” Hastings said about his night. “We’re down on equipment, so being able to compete is good. Winning our heat race, started fifth in the feature and got up to second, but couldn’t quite make a move for the lead.”
Hastings will continue his quest for the NOSA title Friday night at River Cities, and at the Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND on Saturday.
“Those out of town tracks are kinda anyone’s ballgame. They’re slow and technical, and setup and starting position really matter. Jamestown is a really cool track.”
Jade and the entire SJS Racing team would like to thank all of their sponsors for their continued support!
