Mullen scores win #4 at Jamestown; Eyes Governor’s Cup win this weekend
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (July 30, 2021) – Brendan Mullen won his fourth feature of the 2021 campaign in the No. 11M Native Nations Cannabis machine at Jamestown Speedway last Saturday night, and in doing so, moved into the second spot in the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA series point standings.
Mullen started another three-race weekend last Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, where he finished second in his heat race. Mullen started fourth in the 25 lap main event, but slipped back to as low as seventh by the midway point.
Mullen rebounded late in the race, however, gaining back most of the ground he lost, finishing in the fourth position.
The team headed south to the site of Mullen’s first NOSA win last season, as the series made its annual visit to Jamestown Speedway in Jamestown, ND. Mullen won his heat from the pole, and started second in the 25 lap feature.
Mullen took the lead at the start, and continued to lead after each of the three caution periods of the race.
Mullen led every lap to complete the sweep of the night, winning by over two-and-a-half seconds to win his second straight feature at Jamestown.
“My Crew Chief Todd Slocum has a really good game plan coming in here,” Mullen said in victory lane. “We come in here with confidence ready to go, and it’s been going good. We got two nights here and two wins.”
The team concluded their weekend with another trip to Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night where Mullen finished 17th in the feature.
This week, the team heads west with the NOSA Sprints for the Governor’s Cup at Dacotah Speedway in Mandan, ND. Mullen won Friday’s feature at the speedway last July, and finished as the runner-up on the weekend. The team will also head back to Huset’s Sunday for the $10,000-to-win Bull Haulers Brawl.
