Tucker Wins; Joey Scores Top Ten With WoO Lates

By Spieker Promotions

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (July 21, 2021) – It was another banner week for the Pederson racing team last week, as Tucker began to hit his stride with another feature win, his second in six days, while Joey spent the duration of the World of Outlaws Late Model feature running door-to-door with Brandon Sheppard for a spot inside the top ten.

The Pederson boys kicked off the weekend at River Cities Speedway last Friday night, as the World of Outlaws Late Models made their annual trip to the quarter-mile Bullring in Grand Forks.

Joey kicked off the night with the second best lap in his qualifying group in his Dahlstrom Motors No. 7P, with the sixth fastest overall. Joey and Tucker both went on to finish second in their heat races, setting up a pole position start for Tucker, and a spot outside of row eight for Joey in the Outlaw main event.

Tucker led the entirety of his feature in his No. 27P Amy Dallum Photography Street Stock, through a myriad of cautions sprinkled throughout the 15 lap feature, to score his second win in six days.

“That bottom was pretty strong,” Tucker said in victory lane. “I knew that after they farmed it, and I hoped no one was catching up.”

On hitting a stride in the second half, Tucker said, “I hope so. It’s usually the second half where we start to get it going.”

Joey followed up Tucker’s win with an impressive run in the World of Outlaws Late Model main event.

Joey spent the majority of the 40 lap feature fighting for spots inside, not just the top ten, but the top five.

For the majority of the middle part of the race, Joey went door-to-door with one of the best in the business, Brandon Sheppard for position inside the top five.

Joey ended the race in the eighth spot, his career best with the series.

The Pederson kids headed west on Saturday to take in a night of action at the Devils Lake Speedway near Doyon, ND

Tucker had a chance at another feature win, which would’ve been his third in eight days, but an overheating engine ended his night early.

Kelsi took her No. 93 Northland Sheds Henchcraft Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint to a second place run in her heat race, which set up a sixth place start in the main event.

Late in the race, Kelsi fought her way up to the second spot, but a restart late in the race dashed her hopes of a first feature win of the year, as she finished in the third spot.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
