Mullen records two podium finishes with NOSA Sprints

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (August 11, 2021) – Brendan Mullen has found his stride through the middle portion of the 2021 season and that was evident again last weekend with the Buffalo Wild Wings NOSA Sprints.

Mullen recorded podium finishes at both River Cities Speedway on Friday night and at Buffalo River Speedway in Glyndon, Minn. on Sunday.

With those two strong finishes, Mullen has closed the gap between himself and NOSA point leader Wade Nygaard to just 18 points.

Over the past 16 races dating back to June 22nd, Mullen has picked up 15 top 10 finishes with 13 of those being top five efforts, including 3 wins.

Mullen had to charge from deep in the field on Friday night. The driver of the Native Nations Cannabis No. 11M started 10th on the grid for the 30-lap Wayne Anderson Cup feature. Mullen methodically worked his way up the running order, cracking the top five with 10 to go, and continued forward to round out the podium at the checkers.

The Auto Finance Super Center team returned to action on Sunday for NOSA’s first event at Buffalo River Speedway since September 2019.

Starting on the pole for the feature, Mullen took the early lead over the 23 car field. He quickly encountered lapped traffic on the extremely tight and narrow quarter-mile which allowed Mark Dobmeier to close in.

Mullen went three wide in lapped traffic in turns one and two on lap four, making slight contact with the inside car. That was all Dobmeier needed to find a way around Mullen to take the lead.

Mullen remained a threat for the remainder of the race, but came home in the second position.
