Pierce claims sixth consecutive River Cities Speedway win!

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (September 16, 2021) – Austin Pierce continued his home track dominance last Friday night as he picked up his sixth consecutive win at River Cities Speedway.
Pierce started on the pole of the 30-lap Wayne Anderson Cup finale on night one of the 15th annual John Seitz Memorial and looked to be the car to beat early on. Near the halfway point, restarts plagued Pierce as he was shuffled back to as far as third on two occasions.
Pierce ran third behind Brendan Mullen and Jade Hastings with under 10 to go, but found the rubber in the middle of the corners to return to the lead with seven to go.
Once out front, Pierce couldn’t be touched as he cruised to the win.
“I couldn’t do it without the help of my crew. I about let it slip away from us at the end,” said a happy Pierce in victory lane. “I couldn’t get good restarts. With the rubber coming in, I didn’t know where to be on the track. It’s pretty surreal to get six-in-a-row and it’s even more special to get it during the John Seitz Memorial and the Wayne Anderson Cup.”
Pierce finished second in both the Wayne Anderson Cup point standings and the Wayne Anderson Cup hard charger standings.
The River Cities Speedway concludes this Friday night as Pierce tries for his seventh straight win. The track record is eight consecutive victories set by Mark Dobmeier in 2018.
