Tucker wins fourth feature of the year

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (September 8, 2021) – Tucker Pederson parked the No. 27P Olson Underground WISSOTA Street Stock in victory lane last Sunday night at Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN. Tucker’s win was the exclamation point on another solid weekend for the Pederson family, following a second place run by Kelsi on Saturday in Greenbush, and Joey’s third place run at River Cities on Friday that saw him lead half of the feature.

Tucker and Joey started the weekend for the family last Friday night at River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks. Tucker made it from sixth to fourth in his heat race, while Joey won his heat from the pole.

Joey started third in the 20 lap Late Model feature, but used the bottom to perfection to move past Dustin & Jason Strand to take the lead on the opening lap.

Joey led by nearly a straightaway as the leaders caught up with lapped traffic with only five laps in the books.

Heavier lapped traffic just past the halfway point cost Joey the lead, as Dustin Strand took the lead.

Joey avoided disaster as the field was set to begin the final five circuits around the quarter-mile “Bullring.” A lapped car spun sideways in front of Joey, causing Joey to have to spin himself to avoid major damage.

Joey got his spot back for the ensuing restart, but lost a spot to Brad Seng in turn one as the race resumed. Joey finished the race in the third spot.

Earlier in the night, Tucker’s feature came to an end on the opening lap with a mechanical failure.

Kelsi joined Tucker for the next two nights of racing at the Greenbush Race Park on Saturday and Sunday.

Kelsi started fourth in the 20 lap Minn-Kota Lightning Sprint main event on Saturday, which got off to a slow start. After moving up to second on lap twelve, she remained in the position for the remainder of the race.

Tucker’s feature ended with another DNF, as he pulled off the track during a caution with five laps left.

On Sunday in Greenbush, Tucker stormed from fifth to second in his heat race, while Kelsi scored her second heat win of the weekend.

Tucker started fourth in the 15 lap finale at Greenbush for 2021, and improved to third on the opening lap. From there, he went on to use the top of the track to move past John Halvorson on the backstretch on the second lap.

Tucker moved to the bottom of the track as he reeled in Kyle Dykhoff for the lead. Following a door-to-door battle for a few laps, Tucker took the lead for good on the ninth lap. He continued on for his fourth win of the year, as the race went green-to-checkered with no cautions.

Kelsi started sixth in the final 20 lap Lightning Sprint main event in Greenbush for the year, but moved into the top five on the opening lap and took the checkers in the fourth position.

This week, Joey and Tucker will head to River Cities Speedway for the final time in 2021 for the 15th annual John Seitz Memorial.

The entire Joey Pederson Racing team would like to thank all of their great sponsors for their continued support!
