Strand claims first win of 2022 at River Cities

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (June 14, 2022) – Dustin Strand put a tally in the win column on Friday at River Cities Speedway as he powered his Millenium SRT No. 71 to a dominating win during the 20-lap Late Model feature.

Lining up third for the start of the main event, Strand quickly moved into second before setting his sites on Jesse Teunis for the lead. Strand patiently waited for Teunis to make a small mistake and that’s exactly what happened exiting turn four at the completion of lap four.

Strand shot into the lead to pace the 24-car field and never looked back.

Near the midway point of the race, Lance Schill moved into the second spot and tried to make a run at Strand, but Strand was just too strong as he cruised to the win.

The Strand Racing team brought both the Late Model and Modified east to Greenbush Race Park on Saturday.

The East Grand Forks driver put on a show in the Modified feature, starting seventh and working his way into a podium position by race’s end. In a slim but stout field, Strand cracked the top five by lap two before moving into third on lap 15 with five to go. From there, he moved by Rick Delaine to take over the second position in the closing laps.

Strand started the 25-lap NLRA feature in the ninth position and took the checkers in sixth.
